A new study has discovered the most popular online casino games in Europe and which European cities are Googling them the most.

iGaming experts at new online casinos site Kongebonus gathered a list of well-known casino games, like online blackjack and poker, and then analysed the average monthly search volume over the past 12 months of each one. They examined the search volumes in major European cities, like Paris and Manchester, to determine which online casino games are most popular in Europe.

Europe’s most Googled casino game is keno, a game similar to lotteries, where players pick numbers and win prizes depending on how many numbers are guessed correctly.

On average, online keno accumulates a staggering 553,341 searches a month, and Strasbourg, France, searches for the game the most, with approximately 9,901 monthly searches per 100,000 people.

The second most popular online casino game is lottery games, seeing 509,909 monthly searches on average. Manchester, UK is searching the most for online lotteries, with 4,249 monthly searches per 100,000 residents.

Bingo is in third place with an average of 226,053 monthly searches, and Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, searches the most for online bingo – the city has an average monthly search volume of 2,634 per 100,000 people.

Poker is next in the ranking, witnessing 214,633 average monthly searches. Citizens of Frankfurt, Germany can’t get enough of online poker, searching for the game 723 times a month per 100,000 residents.

Online slots take fifth place, accumulating 112,483 monthly searches on average. Online slots are most popular in Vigo, Spain, where residents search for slot games 775 times a month per 100,000 people.

Blackjack is the sixth most popular online casino game, seeing an average of 103,796 monthly searches. Online blackjack games are most popular in Vigo again, with 1,477 average monthly searches per 100,000 people.

Online roulette is next in the ranking, with 91,248 average monthly searches. Paris, France is the city searching for online roulette games the most, with approximately 496 monthly searches per 100,000 residents.

In eighth place is jackpot, with 88,256 average monthly searches. Interestingly, Ljubljana, Slovenia searches for online jackpot games the most, with a staggering 4,142 monthly searches per 100,000 people.

Baccarat is Googled an average of 76,820 times a month, ranking it ninth. Online baccarat is searched the most in Paris, with Parisians searching for the game 553 times a month per 100,000 people.

Just making the ranking for Europe’s most popular online casino games is craps, a dice game where players bet on the outcome of a roll. Online craps accumulate 24,063 average monthly searches in Europe, and Vigo searches for this game the most, with 1,401 monthly searches per 100,000 people.

Kongebonus online casino expert Eve Luneborg has commented on the findings: “It is interesting to see online keno, lottery, and bingo games take the top spots in the ranking, as all are simple number drawing games that do not require any strategy or skill from the player. Perhaps games of chance like these are more palatable to online players who do not want to play more complex games like poker or blackjack and prefer straightforward, low risk casino games.

“Arguably, the simplicity of these games is also more enjoyable, and anyone can play them. Whether you are a seasoned gambler or have no experience playing casino games online, you could easily win a game of keno, lottery, or bingo. No pressure, no stress, no skill – just have fun!”
