Matthew Gera has left his role as commercial director at RubyPlay to take on new roles as CEO and co-owner of Wild Gaming Studios, he announced on Tuesday.

Wild Gaming Studios is a casino game development company that was formed back in 2022 with the aim of creating “captivating gaming experiences that resonate with players worldwide.”

While the company is based in Belgrade, Serbia, Mr Gera will be taking on the role on a remote basis.

In the announcement, he stated that together with the team, Wild Gaming Studios is on a mission to “create innovative and exciting iGaming slot experiences.”

“Our team is expanding and dedicated to crafting immersive experiences that captivate audiences worldwide,” he added.

His new role comes just a few days after he bid farewell to RubyPlay, a Malta-based iGaming company that he worked at for more than four years. While he had joined as commercial and account manager back in 2020, just a year later, he was appointed commercial director, a position he held up until his departure.

In his statement about his departure from the company last week, Mr Gera said that his tenure at RubyPlay has been “a profoundly rewarding experience, marked by significant personal and professional growth.” He proceeded to thank the leadership team and his former colleagues for their guidance, support, and appreciation throughout his time there.

“As I embark on this new chapter, I carry with me the invaluable lessons, cherished memories, and enduring relationships cultivated during my time at RubyPlay. While I bid farewell to familiar shores, I am eager to embrace the unchartered territories ahead, fortified by the experiences garnered in this esteemed organisation,” he continued.

Mr Gera wished his former colleagues well in the future, adding that he wishes their paths will cross again in the near future.

RubyPlay’s social media account also took the time to thank Mr Gera for his time at the company, stating that the past four years have been “truly transformative.”

“Your strategic insights and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in shaping our trajectory. While we’ll miss your presence within our team, we’re excited to see where your next chapter takes you,” it added.

Over the years, he has gained a wide array of experience in the iGaming industry, having also occupied senior management positions at Pragmatic Play, Playson, and Aspire Global.
