Peter Frey has announced his appointment as Chief Technology Officer at Genius Sports, bringing an end to a two-year stint at Betsson Group, where he held the same position.

A veteran in product and technology management, Mr Frey took to social media to address the “tough decision” to leave the “awesome” people at Betsson Group and join the London-based sports technology company.

Reflecting on his time at Betsson, he stated: “We have really made a difference uniting Product & Tech and putting our customers in the centre during an unprecedented transformation of mind and matter.

“I am so proud of all that we have achieved”.

Fredrik Ögren will take over as Betsson’s new CTO, bringing his two years at the company to a head.

Joining Betsson in mid-2019 as Cloud and DevOps Director, he was promoted to Director of Platforms & Infrastructure at the start of 2021.

On his part, speaking after his first day in the CTO role, Mr Ögren explained he felt “honoured, proud and excited” by the position.

“Now I hope I can spread that feeling to all Betssonites when we take yet another step in driving innovation within our industry”.
